I am trying to get some insurance on the property I own, and it is necessary for me to get a commercial real estate appraisal. This is so the company is sure that my home is valued at an amount that is conducive to the information I offered them.
They said that I should get the appraisal and have the report sent to them. I figured they would give me some insight when it comes to the person I should hire, but they did not offer me any help as far as that goes.
Since I have never gone through this before, I am not really sure where I should start. Do I call my friends who have real estate experience to see who they would recommend, even though I know they have only dealt with residential properties? Would it be wise for me to hop online and do some independent research to see what I come up with? These are both pretty sound ideas, so I may try each of them. I am even planning to go check http://www.ctcappraisals.com/. All I know is that I am hoping to get this process started as soon as possible.
